About the Journal

The African Accounting and Finance Journal (AAFJ) is a bilingual (English and French), peer-reviewed outlet dedicated to advancing knowledge in accounting, finance, economics, and related fields, with a particular emphasis on Africa. Its primary aim is to publish high-quality work that deepens understanding of accounting and finance practices, policies, and theories in African contexts, or through comparative perspectives that meaningfully engage African experiences.

Peer Review

All submissions undergo a rigorous double-anonymised peer review process. Manuscripts may be submitted in either English or French. After initial screening by the Editors for suitability, qualifying papers are sent to at least two independent reviewers. Final acceptance or rejection decisions rest with the Editors. The review process is conducted in the language of submission. Accepted manuscripts must provide abstracts in both English and French. The full text of the article will appear in the original submission language (English or French).

Special Issues

The journal welcomes proposals for Special Issues. Interested scholars should submit a proposal of at least 1,500 words to the Editors. Once approved, all papers within the Special Issue will undergo AAFJ’s standard peer review process.
