Abstract

This editorial summarises the recent troubled situation at the government archive and record keeping agency. It explains why the Digital Continuity Action plan has been delayed. It also talks about the unexpected resignation of Chief Archivist Greg Goulding. The author considers how the Archives and Records Association of New Zealand (ARANZ) should respond to the situation. They list the aims, goals and objectives of ARANZ.

Author Biography

Theresa Graham

Theresa Graham is Team leader, Library Collections at the Auckland War Memorial Museum /Tamaki Paenga Hira. Theresa has worked extensively in the documentary heritage sector at the tertiary and local government level in Auckland. She was a foundation member of The Guardians Kaitiaki of the Alexander Turnbull Library and of The Archives Council Te Rua Wānanga and is currently president of the ARANZ Council.
