Abstract

This article describes research undertaken to source or create good practice standards for the creation and management of born-digital information and to identify what a digital archiving future would look like for MW LASS councils. It explains some of the challenges faced with born-digital information.

Author Biography

Natalie Dewson

Natalie Dewson is the Senior Electronic Archives Advisor for Archives Central (MW LASS Ltd), a local government archive based in Feilding. Natalie’s career has included roles at Archives New Zealand, the former Environmental Risk Management Authority, Ministry of Justice and most recently an Associate of SWIM Ltd. She is the Manawatu-Whanganui Regional Ambassador for the National Digital Forum, and is a member of the New Zealand International Review Group for ISO/TC 46 SC 11.
